Nicandro's Evil Plan

Renato gives Angelika a cute dog which she named Fifi (voiced by Ruffa Mae Quinto). Angelika calls on her assistant, Perfecta (Mel Kimura) to take care of her dog.

Marimar is washing her wedding dress to make sure that it is sparkling white on her wedding day. She is talking excitedly to Fulgoso when she accidentally rips the lacey part of her dress. Troubled, she rushes off in search of Sergio to ask his advise about where to find a tailor who can fix her now-ruined dress.


On her way, she meets Nicardro who had been harboring a mix of lustful feelings and vengeance for Marimar. He pretends to be sorry for his harshness and asks Marimar if they could be friends. He offers Marimar a bottle of juice he had previously mixed with sleeping pills. When Marimar accepts his apology and offers her friendship, he encourages Marimar to drink the juice to which she obliged. She got dizzy and Nicandro carries her to an empty cottage. Fulgoso runs to look for Sergio at the villa Santibanez.


Angelika in desparation to stop the wedding goes to Sergio’s room and kisses Sergio passioantely. Renato arrives and sees the two lip-locked. Father and son engage in a boxing match where the enraged Renato wins over Sergio. Angelika stops them from hitting each other and Renato made her choose. Sergio implores Angelika to choose him but Angelika chose Renato instead. This caused Sergio to walk out and he sees Fulgoso who seems to be asking him to follow his lead.

Angelika's Hidden Motives


Angelika tells Marimar that Sergio comes from a rich family and would prefer a more sophisticated wife. She gives out at check of five million pesos to bribe Marimar into not going through with the wedding. Seeing how her grandmother seems to be ill, Angelika pushed Marimar that with five million she could do a lot of things, especially help her sick grandmother get better. But Marimar returned Angelika’s check saying that although they are poor and needed money her love is not for sale. She loves Sergio and she will marry him. This upsets Angelika who leaves immediately.

Marimar is at the Santibanez villa waiting for Sergio when Nicandro spots her. He approaches her and tells her that she has caught a big fish in the person of Sergio. Nicandro asked her how she did it? Whether she used her “charms” and Marimar is obviously confused about what Nicandro is talking about. He continues to harrass Marimar, even went as far as snatching her arm and asking for a kiss. This enrages Marimar and Fulgoso who barks loudly and bit Nicandro on the leg. Sergio saw this and tells Nicandro to get his hands off Marimar. He also reprimands the man that should this happen again, he will be searching for a new job. Nicandro swear vengenace on both Marimar and Fulgoso.

Marimar tries to teach Sergio to dance but the young man admits to having two left feet when it comes to dancing. She shows his her moves and encourages him to follow her. He dances consciously and he sees how natural all this comes to Marimar. They hug and kiss again with Marimar expressly admiting her love for Sergio. This stunned Sergio who was unable to say the same thing to Marimar. This gives a cloud into their happy day – with Marimar left thinking that maybe Sergio does not really love her...but how come he asked her to marry him if he didn’t?

Angelika tells Monica that Sergio is only using Marimar to make her feel jealous but she is certain that Sergio still loves her. She is thinking of a way to get rid of Marimar so that she will have Sergio all to herself like before.

Meanwhile Renato confronts Angelika about a matter worth five million pesos. This amount had been taken off their joint savings. Angelika said she took it but did not use it and that the money is still available. Renato warns her about her feelings for Sergio and that he will kill her first before she ever betrays him.

Renato asked Monica out for lunch and interviews her about what Angelika has been telling her about Sergio.

Sergio Introduces Marimar to Renato and Angelika



Sergio brought Marimar to the Santibanez mansion to introduce her to Renato and Angelika. When Renato found out who she was, he reprimanded his son for his poor choice of a wife. Sergio retorted that nothing is wrong with his choice, his mother who had passed away herself chose a poor fisherman to be her husband. This caught the ire of Renato who didn’t want to be reminded by his own son about his impoverished past.

Sergio gave Marimar better fitting shoes and invited her to dine in a restaurant. When the latter found eating difficult using cutleries, Sergio tells the waiter to remove all cutleries as they have decided to eat with their hands. This pleased Marimar and surprised many of the other diners. The two however didn’t care and ate to their hearts content.

Marimar visits Padre Porres telling him about her marriage plans. She also asks the priest to teach her to write her and Sergio’s name so she is able to sign properly on her marriage contract.

Later, Marimar and Sergio were together and Marimar shows him what she’s learned. She also draws a picture of her and Sergio with a huge heart in the middle. This pleases Sergio as he hugs and kisses Marimar tenderly.


Sergio confides to Arturo how he likes Marimar but still loves Angelika. However he does not really want to go through with the wedding because he does not want to hurt Marimar. He is in a serious pickle on how he would be able to continue hurting and upsetting his parents without having to go through with the wedding.

Meanwhile Cruz gives Marimar a present, her wedding dress which she wore on her own wedding. She tells Marimar that a few adjustments are needed then the dress will be ready for Marimar to use. While sticthing the dress, Cruz got a dizzy spell which alarmed Pancho and Marimar. Marimar runs to Padre Porres and asks for advice as well as some medicine to help her grandmother. The priest tells her that maybe she should take her grandmother to a hospital to get a proper check-up to know what is really wrong with her. Being poor, Marimar said that this would be quite impossible to do as where would they be able to find the money to go through the expensive tests and medication. She goes home to find an unexpected visitor.
